NOTICE TO CONSIGNEES:
Consignee (s) holding duly negotiated original Bill (s) of Lading properly endorsed by all concerned may present in exchange of delivery order to United Marine Agencies (Pvt) Ltd. You are also advised to please note following in your own interest & smooth delivery of Cargo / Container:
1) All CY/CY & FCL/FCL (Shipper’s load, stow & count) basis are to be received by consignee from above mentioned terminal / container yard upon customs clearance and transportation to their premises on self-de-stuffing. Free days for container rent will be allowed as per line’s rentals/demurrage/detention tariff, therefore, container rent shall be applicable as per tariff from the vessel’s arrival till the date empty container is returned back in line inventory at the respective terminal/yard.
2) Change of status from CY to CFS: Consignees who desire to de-stuff their CY/CY & FCL/FCL (Shipper’s load stow & count) containers are requested to send their request to us on their original letter head, at least 04 days prior to arrival of the vessel. De-stuffing however will only be allowed as per customs and ports rules and with the approval of the shipper and where appropriate space/warehouse at your cost is provided for the de-stuffed cargo. In case de-stuffing is allowed, you/your clearing agent is also requested to be present at the time of de-stuffing of cargo from the containers in order to inspect the seals and witness the quantity / condition of packages in respect of containers shipped on “Shippers’ Load / Stow and Count” i.e., CY/CY or CY/CFS basis. Please note that carriers are not responsible for the contents inside the containers being shipped on above mentioned terms of contract of carriage. In view of this change of status, if allowed, you will need to deposit Rs.25,000/- per TEU to offset shortage / excess outturned ex containers. The amount will be refunded in full should there be no discrepancy reported by the port authority.
3) Long Stay Container: In case the container delivery is not taken within 15 days of vessel arrival the line will be at liberty (but not obliged to) to Devan/de-stuff the containers in the port / terminal assigned area holding consignee fully responsible for container rentals, demurrage, detention & other risks/costs. Consignees are advised to observe Customs & port rules, cargo may be auctioned as per customs rules if delivery is not taken within 30 days of vessel’s arrival.
4) For Perishable/Reefer Cargo: Consignee shall take delivery within 48 hours of vessel arrival, otherwise container will be auctioned without further notice as per the provisions of Pakistan Customs Act, 1969 "Perishable and Hazardous goods may, with permission of the appropriate officer, be sold at any time". The shipping line may also de-plug the reefer containers without further notice after aforesaid 48 hours.
5) Written application for survey of cargo in damaged / doubtful condition should reach our office within 03 days of completion of discharge. Our surveyors will hold no survey once cargo is removed from the landing place.
6) Movement of CY containers to Inland destination will be against Multi Model B/LS.
7) For B/Ls where the place of delivery is Inland destination under carrier responsibility: It will be necessary for the importer to provide five (5) copies of the below documents prior to the vessel's arrival at Karachi for completion of relevant transshipment formalities:- (a) Original B/L (b) Invoice (c) Packing List (d) Complete contact address with names / telephone nos. of person to be contacted. (e) Letter of indemnity for CY return of the containers to the line terminal / depot (specimen can be obtained from customer service department by sending email). We shall not accept any responsibility for consequences resulting due to delay in submission of these documents. Also, port demurrage will be paid by the consignee prior to move container for upcountry.
8) All charges including THC will be payable by consignee(s) in accordance with our Principals Tariff. Please pay attention as to avoid any unfavorable circumstances, hence reconfirm prior documentation process of the said vessel/s.
