Pakistan Navy instituted the Chief of the Naval Staff Open Golf Championship at Karachi Golf Club (KGC) with United Marine Agencies to add a national level Golf event to the calendar of the Pakistan Golf Federation.
The opening ceremony and media brief of 26th Chief of the Naval Staff Open Golf Championship was held Wednesday 28th December 2022 at Karachi Golf Club (KGC).
Commander Karachi Rear Admiral Mian Zakirullah Jan graced the occasion as Chief Guest along with CEO United marine agencies Mr. Sohail Shams and inaugurated the championship.
The Golf Championship will be played in professionals, amateurs, veterans, ladies, and junior categories. For Professional and amateurs' categories, the tournament will be contested for 72 holes matches. 36 holes by senior professionals and 18 holes matches for juniors and ladies whereas, 9 holes matches will be contested among veterans.
Mr. Muhammad Shabbir Iqbal won the title of 26th Chief of the Naval Staff Open Golf Championship. The prize distribution ceremony of the championship was held at Karachi Golf Club (KGC).
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
The four days long Golf Championship held from 29 Dec 22 to 01 Jan 2023, has become a major event in golfing circles.
